AP Software

IUA related processes on the Host and Auxillary Processors (APs) provide services to the other IUA processes. Host processes support basic I/O, graphical displays, and file system access. One of the processes running on the Host is an IUA system-supplied server that provides I/O services for the other IUA processes. The server is extensible so that users may supply additional host services.

Additonal processes may be running on various APs that may be connected to the IUA VMEbus. An AP process runs under the same real-time operating system as the CP and consists of many tasks. These tasks may be controlling other devices. They may be high level image understanding tasks or other application required tasks.

AP Software is written using a high level langauge such as C.
